城崎国際アートセンター（KIAC）は、兵庫県豊岡市の温泉街に位置する舞台芸術のための滞在型の創作施設です。旧・城崎大会議館をリニューアルして2014年にオープンしたこの施設は、ホールに6つのスタジオ、最大22名が宿泊可能なレジデンスやキッチンなどで構成され、アーティストが城崎のまちに暮らすように滞在し、創作に集中することのできる施設として、開館以来高い評価を受けています。
国際的なイメージの定着と、地域に根ざした活動をイメージさせるデザインが命題でした。日本固有の家紋をモチーフに、豊岡のシンボルであるコウノトリを加え整えました。結びの門でもあり、海外と豊岡を結ぶシンボルとして制作しました。

Kinosaki International Art Center (KIAC) is a residency-based creative facility for the performing arts located in the hot spring resort of Toyooka City, Hyogo Prefecture. Since its opening, KIAC has been highly acclaimed as a facility where artists can stay as if they were living in Kinosaki and concentrate on their creative work. The challenge was to create an image that is both international and rooted in the local community. We used the motif of the family crest, which is unique to Japan, and added the stork, the symbol of Toyooka, to the design. It is also the gate of the knot, and we created it as a symbol to connect Toyooka with the rest of the world.
