「CLOUD LINE」は、宝塚市立文化芸術センターで開催された展覧会です。
インターネットが普及し、記憶ところがそのデータは分散して保管され、目を離すと見失ってしまう。所在のはっきりしないその記憶は、果たしていつまで保存されるのだろうか？例えば人類が滅んでも、（電力供給が維持されていれば…）CLOUDデータとして漂いつづけるのだろうか。
このことは、親しい人の死と向き合った時に私が感じたことと似ている。葬儀場に横たわる肉体は確かに活動を停止し、その人は笑ってはくれない。しかし一方で、その記憶は雲の上を漂い、存在しているように感じる。
1本のワイヤーを一筆書きの要領で空中に人を描くことで、「線」である二次元の作品が多次元に展開していくワイヤーアート。本展では、インターネットの普及でCLOUDに情報が共有されていく現代に着想し、「線」をデータ通信のコードに見立てて作品とした。人を模ったコードにあなたは何を見るのだろう。
CLOUD LINE” was an exhibition held at Takarazuka City Culture and Art Center.
With the spread of the Internet, memories are stored in a dispersed manner, and when we take our eyes off them, we lose track of them. How long will these memories, whose whereabouts are unclear, be preserved? For example, will it continue to drift around as CLOUD data even after the death of humanity (as long as the power supply is maintained…)?
This is similar to what I felt when I faced the death of someone close to me. The body lying in the funeral home is certainly no longer active, and the person does not smile. But on the other hand, I feel that the memory of the person exists, hovering above the clouds.
By drawing a person in the air with a single wire in the manner of a stroke, the two-dimensional work, which is a “line,” develops into multiple dimensions in wire art. In this exhibition, inspired by the modern age when information is shared CLOUD with the spread of the Internet, the “wire” was made to look like a data communication code. What will you see in the code that resembles a person?
